On Monday September 8th Jenny Gillies was commissioned as the Chester Diocese and Mothers’ Union Family Life Officer. Bishop Peter preached at a service of thanksgiving and celebration in the Cathedral Chapter House.

Valda Walker, the Mothers’ Union Diocesan President of Saldana Bay in Southern Africa visited Chester Diocese at the beginning of September to celebrate her 60th birthday with us. Besides being Diocesan President, Valda is the head teacher of a pre-primary school for 2-6 year olds. Her church, St Nicholas, regularly has 700 people at the one Sunday service!
